Facing the World – Egypt

A Visual Journey Down the Nile

Buy Now

This journey with photographer and world traveler Michael Morrissey will take you through the streets Cairo and far beyond: to Alexandria, built over the sunken city of Cleopatra and Caesar to the majestic Temple of Hatshepsut, to Luxor and Karnack and Abu Simbel, through tiny villages and complex markets, the placid Isle of Philae, Kom Ombo and Edfu, along quiet stretches of the ever flowing Nile by boat, and to a meditative place, alone at night beneath the stars amongst monuments that mark civilizations older than four thousand years, conceived by a sophistication in the arts and sciences that still baffle present day archaeologists and historians. As you glide down the Nile and through Michael’s stunning photographs, we hope you share our sentiment that, for the moment, we are transported to another time and place where nothing has changed. Included are photographer’s notes.
